INSPIRATION

As an artist, I constantly draw inspiration from my surroundings, seizing every opportunity to capture moments, often with just my phone camera. Over the years, my passion for filmmaking has grown, particularly through my studies in AS, where I've deepened my understanding of the craft. While I cherish photography, my focus has shifted towards videography, finding it to be more immersive and impactful. The combination of sound and visuals possesses immense potential when wielded skillfully, allowing for the creation of truly magical experiences.

For my A2 advanced portfolio, I've chosen to delve into the realm of music videos. Below, I'll outline some significant sources of inspiration that have greatly influenced my aesthetic, which I intend to incorporate into my work.

1. Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey holds a strong position as my favourite artist in the music industry, given her exceptional talent in both visual and musical aesthetics. I first discovered her artistry through the music video for "Summertime Sadness," the flagship single from her 2012 album "Born To Die." This album not only captivated me with its musical offerings but also introduced me to a unique form of visual storytelling evident in its music videos. This particular style of visual storytelling has greatly influenced my approach to digital and video projects ever since.

2. Bayaan

Bayaan, the renowned band from Pakistan, has been a significant source of inspiration in my journey as a videographer. Introduced to their mesmerizing music through their album "Suno," particularly the captivating track "Teri Tasveer," I was immediately drawn into their world of soulful melodies and poignant lyrics. However, it wasn't just their music that left a lasting impact on me; it was also their innovative approach to visual storytelling evident in their music videos. Bayaan's unique blend of music and visuals opened my eyes to the power of storytelling through the lens, sparking a newfound passion for cinematography and digital media. Their ability to convey emotions and narratives through imagery has profoundly influenced my creative process, shaping my approach to crafting compelling video projects. As I delve deeper into the realm of videography, I carry with me the inspiration and insights gained from Bayaan's artistic endeavors, continually striving to infuse my work with the same depth and resonance that they so effortlessly achieve.

3. Hasan Raheem

Hasan Raheem, a notable artist from Pakistan, has profoundly impacted my journey as a videographer.
