POST-PRODUCTION : COLOUR GRADING

For maximum creative freedom and precision, I utilised both Davinci Resolve and Premiere Pro for colour grading my music video shots. While Premiere Pro offers solid colour grading tools, Davinci Resolve is renowned for its industry-leading capabilities in this area. By leveraging the advanced features of Davinci Resolve, I was able to achieve precise colour adjustments and create a cohesive visual style for my music video.

In addition to using Davinci Resolve and Premiere Pro, I incorporated custom Look-Up Tables (LUTs) into my colour grading process. These LUTs are essentially preset color profiles that can be applied to footage to achieve specific looks and styles. By using a custom LUT tailored to the aesthetic vision of my music video, I was able to enhance the colours and overall visual impact of my footage, resulting in a more polished and professional end product.

Colour grading involves a combination of technical know-how and artistic intuition. Key technical aspects include adjusting exposure, white balance, contrast, saturation, and color temperature to achieve the desired look and feel. Understanding how these adjustments affect the overall image is crucial for achieving consistent and visually pleasing results.

Colour grading is a powerful tool for enhancing the visual storytelling of our music videos. By harnessing the capabilities of software tools like Davinci Resolve and Premiere Pro, along with custom LUTs and a solid understanding of technical aspects, we can elevate our footage to new heights of cinematic beauty. So, let's embrace the magic of color grading and unlock the full potential of our visual storytelling endeavors.
